Lee Perry is a conservative Republican who serves in the Utah House of Representatives, District 29 which is comprised of southeastern Box Elder County and northwestern Weber Counties. . He is married to Kathlyn Perry and they have four children. Lee is an Eagle Scout and has a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice Administration. Lee is a 28-year veteran law enforcement officer with the Utah Highway Patrol where he has served on the Governor’s security detail, coordinated and developed the first ever Highway Patrol Citizens Academy and also served in the presidency of the Utah Highway Patrol Association and is responsible for the memorial crosses commemorating fallen Troopers. He is the currently the UHP Section Commander for the UHP in Northern Utah. Besides his law enforcement and legsiative duites he is a volunteer leader with the Boy Scouts of America, serves in his church, and finds time to serve as a peer councilor on the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing team for the State of Utah. He is also a National Safety Council Defensive Driving Instructor, and has been known to be Santa’s helper for the Shop with a Cop program.
He served as the Representative for House District 2 two years and has represented House District 29 for the past 4 years. He currently serves on the (NRAE) Natural Resources, Agricultural and Environment appropriations committee on the Government Operations Standing committee, Legislative Process Committee, and is the Chairman of the Natural Resources Agriculture and Environment (NRAE) standing committee. He also served on the Utah House of Representatives Attorney General Special Investigative Committee.
Lee's legislative priorities are to encourage and promote private enterprise and economic growth and development. He is committed to responsible spending of our state tax dollars. He also wants to continue working to improve our education system to protect our children's future and provide a safe society to live in.
